Inspired by João Gilberto, Django Reinhardt and Jack Johnson, Yat Mellow Blues is a bossa nova pop singer-songwriter and guitarist whose music blends bossa nova, jazz guitar and pop sensibilities. Yat Mellow Blues also teaches jazz and pop guitar online via Zoom for acoustic and electric guitarists learning contemporary music, jazz and blues. His teaching style uses real songs to learn improvisation, technical skills and practical music theory.

Yat Mellow Blues has performed at venues across the United Kingdom, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore, including festivals such as the Vibe Nation Beach Fest, the UNESCO Phuket Jazz Fest, the Rammanee Jazz & Blues Festival and Phuket’s International Jazz & Blues Festival. He is endorsed by EMIYA Guitars and collaborated to design the Mellow Blues archtop guitar series.

When not performing, Yat Mellow Blues is a music educator who has been teaching guitar since 2010. Certified Grade 8 in Trinity Rock & Pop Guitar and Grade 5 in ABRSM Music Theory, his teaching methods have a proven track record of success. In 2014 and 2015, two of his students received Certificates of Excellence from Trinity College London.
